Yes, I am single, yes I love it.... am I a manhater??...mostly no, yes there are a few men that this world could probably do without, but most of them are great! So, why the title....to many times we (singles) miss the opportunities in front of us that aren't there when you are married. After all, you only have to take care of one person, ask the opinion of one person, plan for one person....simple... (now if you are single with kids, or dealing with ex's that is different for sure...)
So what is the point of this blog???
To point out how single life is better? Nope, I'm so not qualified for that....nor do I think one is comparatively better than the other...they are just different and have different things to enjoy in each situation.
The point is, to let you know what is out there to do with your single time. Sure, you could spend your time on facebook, watching movies, playing the latest game, or wish your life were different or you could experience the great area that you live in and all it has to offer....
There is a TON to do in Seattle so, ground rules...since I don't know you and you don't know me (expect the intro I wrote in the "About Me section"...very comprehensive, I know....) here it is. This blog will focus on three main ideas- 1)Free, 2)Food and 3)Fantastic.
FREE
Single = one paycheck so free sometimes is essential. And I got to tell you, there is a lot to do in Seattle for free. Once a month I will do a write up on some free event or activity around the area, ones that are on-going. The only common theme in this is that they are free of charge. This will appear by the 2nd Saturday of each month.
FOOD (yum!!)
Every month I will feature a write up on a "different" place to eat. The price range will fluctuate and will be also commented on. You will not see Denny's, Taco Bell, Jack in the Box, McDonald's, etc. in these write-ups, mostly will concentrate on original settings and how it works for a table for one or a setting with friends (which some places are better for.) Because, sometimes, you do need some you time out and about when your friends aren't available and where electronics are not the main focus (hence the term "out and about.") This will appear by the 3rd Saturday of each month.
FANTASTIC
You got to admit, that one of the perks of living in a metro area is the fantastic, zany, unique stuff that you can find to do. Money wise, this will fluctuate and that will be noted in the report. (I gotta say, I am most looking forward to this one.) This will appear by the 4th Saturday of each month.
SUGGESTIONS
Please feel free to send me suggestions of places you would like me to check out, just please respect that I am only one person and it may take time to get to them or it may not fit into the disclaimer mentioned below, but please send them!!! (Boundaries at this time: Tacoma area to Bremerton to Everett to Issaquah...may change later but at this time...that's it.)
DISCLAIMER
All the events or activities will be appropriate to (I am hoping) all backgrounds and belief systems....that is my goal with all of this. Though the food one may not be at times...or at least the food I eat at the places I report on....I am sorry for that. With that in mind, you won't see a lot of bar reports on this blog (well, you won't see any actually.) These will be things that will be loads of fun, but also are something you singles with kids can bring the kids along if you would like. (Though giving yourself a night off once and a while is highly recommended....)
